Bexley Swimming Club!  

Bexley Swimming Club is a long established swimming club 
(Established October 1968) and is one of the leading competitive swimming clubs in Kent.

We are affiliated to the Southern Counties ASA and the Kent County ASA, and Members of the National Speedo League and the Kent Junior League.

We are dedicated to giving the finest in coaching and training facilities to allow all our swimmers to reach their full potential. We therefore have an up-to-the-minute, progressive, structured training programme catering for all abilities from the “improver” swimmer through to the “elite” swimmer.

We currently have around 150 members of all ages and abilities ranging from the School of Excellence through to “national” swimmers.

We repeatedly finish in the “Top 10” clubs at the annual Kent County Championships and our swimmers frequently qualify for both the Southern Counties and the ASA National Championships.

Our more capable swimmers compete in the Premier Division of the prestigious Speedo League, which forms part of the National Speedo League, Whilst our younger swimmers compete in Division One of the Kent Junior League.

Bexley Swimming Club also takes part in various inter-club trophy galas and Open meets throughout the year to ensure that competition is available to all our swimmers at the level appropriate to their ages and abilities.

Bexley’s Chief Coach, Shelly Camy, is a qualified ASA Club Coach and Fitness Instructor and has been coaching for over 10 years. As an Age Group swimmer, Shelly made several National finals, won many medals at Southern Counties level and was Kent Champion. She also represented Kent County and Division 11 on numerous occasions.

Shelly feels that it is her job to help swimmers fulfil their potential and guide them to achieving their goals. Improvement is possible at every level! All swimmers should have a goal, whether it is achieving Kent/Southern Counties/National qualifying times or something else, these targets are very important in helping to motivate a swimmer, especially when in hard training!

Our Recent Successes

In the 2003 Kent County Championships the club finished 2nd overall gaining 120 medals. This included winning 51 Championship titles and 20 event best performances. 
We gained promotion to the Premier League in 2001 as division one champions, and in 2002 we finished 5 overall, which is our highest ever position.

Bexley swimming club currently has a swimmer on the British Swimming World Class Potential Programme. This was gained by his performance at the National Age Group Championship.
